Prof. Dr. Norrodzoh Hj Sirenraudah68@um.edu.myOpen Journal Systems<p><strong>INTRODUCTION</strong></p> <p><strong>AL-FALAH - Journal of Al-Falah (e-ISSN : 3122-7163) </strong>is an international peer-reviewed journal published annually (September) by Department of Usuluddin and Da'wah, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.</p> <p><strong>PURPOSE </strong></p> <p>The journal is committed to the advancement of scholarly knowledge related to da’wah and human development area by encouraging discussion among the several branches of Islamic research, humanities and other interdisciplinary studies. Al-FALAH is aimed to provide fresh and insightful Islamic responses to the intellectual challenges of the modern world and to serve as a platform for the exchange of recent scholarly contributions adhering to international standards of methodology and scholarly presentations.</p> <p><strong>SCOPE</strong></p> <p>The scope of the journal encompasses research topics that fall within the broad range of da’wah and human development such as da’wah school of thoughts, da’wah approaches and strategies, da’wah scholars, media in da’wah, Islamic psychological constructs, Islamic psychological inquiry, spiritually oriented and culturally sensitive therapy, and counseling interventions. Although the journal would focus mainly on such works, articles in other disciplines that can contribute toward the development of da’wah are gladly welcomed. </p> <p><strong>AIMS</strong></p> <p>A wide variety of submissions are welcomed from local and internationally researchers, scholars, practitioners, and other reflective-minded individuals who are passionate about ideas, methods, and analyses permeating to da’wah and human development study. These pages are open to a variety of forms: original, scholarly activity such as qualitative and quantitative research, book reviews, critical commentaries, editorials, or debates concerning pertinent issues and topics which may interest and pique readers.</p> <p><strong>LANGUAGE</strong></p> <p>The journal pursues a trilingual publishing policy (Malay, English and Arabic). The Editorial Board reserves the right to decide which language an article will appear in and will undertake to provide professionally acceptable translations.</p> <p><strong>EVALUATION PANEL</strong></p> <p>The journal practices a blind peer-reviewed system. Each paper will be evaluated by two appointed reviewers. In the Islamic perspective, the concept of al-Falāḥ encompasses prosperity, success, and blessings in both worldly life and the Hereafter. This study aims to identify the elements of family well-being based on the al-Falāḥ framework through content analysis of Qur’anic verses and a comprehensive literature review. The findings reveal that al-Falāḥ-based family well-being emphasizes holistic development that balances spiritual and material needs, with taqwā (piety) as its core foundation. Five main domains were identified: spiritual (inner tranquility), economic (adequate and lawful provision), educational (intellectual competence), social (harmonious relationships), and health (physical and mental well-being). Indeed, the successful execution of da’wah and scholarly programs has shown dedicated collaborative efforts between the superiors and the school. However, what is clearly seen behind an ideal students’ self-development are a few problems that need to be faced by the school administrators, educators and the students themselves. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to investigate the problems that happen during the implementation of the activities. This study uses library and field research methods. In the field research, interview techniques, observations, and documentation had been employed to obtain data. Descriptive studies have been conducted to enable researchers to get a superficial picture of a phenomenon. The diversity of storytelling styles exemplifies the pinnacle of excellence as seen in the tales of prophets, animals, celebrities, and representations of social realities. It is filled with well-defined messages, complex themes, a wide range of characters, and time and location settings that are typical of movie settings. Thus, the purpose of this research is to determine how well the life of Prophet Lut AS aligns with the movie's themes drawn from the Quran. To support the material based on the Quran's thematic approach, a comparative study of the movie Sodom and Gomorrah was conducted. Through content analysis, this study employs a qualitative research approach using the CAVDI-xpro method (Computer Assisted for Video Data Index using x program). The study's findings indicated that Prophet Lut AS's story, which includes movie aspects, is noteworthy.
