Mitigation measures through education, especially Climate Change Education, are one of the measures to increase public readiness to act on climate change. The understanding of the impact of food consumption on climate change should be enhanced to form a generation that adopts sustainable diets. The shift from unsustainable dietary patterns to sustainable diets can reduce the carbon footprint of foods that contribute to climate change. A low understanding and awareness of the importance of adopting a sustainable diet in mitigating the effects of climate change is a challenge that needs to be overcome. This article reviews the issues and challenges in implementing Climate Change Education which is an important medium for improving sustainable dietary practices. Among the issues and challenges identified are the knowledge and willingness of teachers to implement climate change education. In addition, the issue of under skilled teachers integrating knowledge about climate change-related food consumption in teaching is also a challenge. Environmental conditions that do not support sustainable dietary practices such as food availability, advertising, and economic affordability are also challenges in improving sustainable dietary practices. Therefore, measures should be taken to improve the readiness and skills of teachers to integrate knowledge related to sustainable diet practices into the teaching session. In addition, efforts to provide an environment that supports sustainable dietary practices need to be stepped up. This is because sustainable diet practices can reduce the impact of carbon footprint generation and can improve the health of the community in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).</p> Anizawati Zainal, Hidayah Mohd Fadzil, Edy Hafizan Mohd Shahali Copyright (c) 2024 https://ejournal.um.edu.my/index.php/JIIE/article/view/50224 Thu, 15 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0800 PENGGUNAAN TEKNOLOGI MULTIMEDIA TERHADAP KEBERKESANAN PENGAJARAN DAN PEMBELAJARAN DALAM SISTEM PENDIDIKAN DI MALAYSIA https://ejournal.um.edu.my/index.php/JIIE/article/view/50226 <p>The education system in Malaysia has undergone educational reforms implemented to address the weaknesses inherent in the education system as well as to meet the needs of current needs and future needs. Understanding the PTE is crucial for mastering Chemistry and is also relevant to other science subjects. However, many students find the PTE challenging and dull due to its complex and abstract subtopics. To make learning the PTE more engaging and effective, a more active teaching approach is needed, moving away from conventional passive methods. Therefore, integrating game-based learning (GBL) as an interactive and dynamic method is the optimal choice. Previous studies have demonstrated that GBL is an effective approach for comprehending the PTE in a meaningful way. In response to the demands of industry 4.0, several countries worldwide have embraced the Integrated STEM approach. This approach exposes students to the importance of acquiring interdisciplinary knowledge that can be applied to real-world problems. Consequently, this article explores the integration of the Integrated STEM approach with game-based learning to facilitate the understanding of the periodic table of elements. Both approaches have been widely acknowledged in literature as providing significant learning experiences for students.</p> Mohammad Najib Mohammed Na'aim, Mageswary Karpudewan Copyright (c) 2024 https://ejournal.um.edu.my/index.php/JIIE/article/view/50227 Thu, 15 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0800
