Tamils who immigrated to the country about 200 years ago are now living their lives with some changes, with Tamil emancipation. The majority of Tamils are living on Malaysian soil today. In Peninsular Malaysia, urban Tamil working class families are at an advanced stage. This paper presents a study of the family relations found among them.

சுமார் 200 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இந்நாட்டில் குடியேறிய தமிழர்கள் தற்போது சில மாற்றங்களோடு தமிழ் மணத்தோடும் தமது வாழ்க்கையை வாழ்ந்து வருகின்றனர். இன்று மலேசிய மண்ணில் வாழ்ந்துவரும் பெரும்பான்மைத் தமிழர்கள், தீபகற்ப மலேசியாவில், உள்ள நகர்ப்புறத் தமிழ்த் தொழிலாளர் வர்க்கக் குடும்பங்கள் உயர்வுகண்ட நிலைகளில் உள்ளனர். அவர்களிடையே காணப்படும் குடும்ப உறவுகள் தொடர்பான ஆய்வினை இக்கட்டுரை முன்வைக்கின்றது.
