Abstract

The Tamils who emigrated nearly 200 years ago are majorly the Tamils, who are living on Malaysian soil today. Most of them live in West Malaysia. This paper examines the role of religious values in the structure of the South Indian family, particularly in Tamils in West Malaysia.

சுமார் 200 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு நாடுவிட்டு நாடுபெயர்ந்த தமிழர்கள்தான் இன்று மலேசிய மண்ணில் வாழ்ந்துவரும் பெரும்பான்மைத் தமிழர்கள். இவர்கள் பெரும்பான்மையோர் மேற்கு மலேசியாவில் வாழ்கின்றர். அதன் அடிப்படையில், மேற்கு மலேசியாவில் தமிழரிடையே குறிப்பாக தென்னிந்திய குடும்ப கட்டமைப்பில் மத மதிப்புகளின் பங்கு எவ்வாறு அமைந்துள்ளது என்பதனை இக்கட்டுரை ஆராய்கின்றது.
