Abstract

Studies on sustainable education have expanded and gained the attention of researchers worldwide. Despite this positive progress, sustainable education studies that focus on the reality of sustainable lifestyle receive the least attention as many scholars believe that identifying the correlation between a dream and the true reality is complicated and difficult to obtain. Regardless, implementation strategy needs to be empowered to change an unsustainable lifestyle to a sustainable one as well as strengthen its implementation to be effective and continuous, ultimately becoming a culture. This study focuses on the literature regarding sustainable education lifestyle through previous studies and integrating past findings to explore new issues to be investigated. This qualitative study utilizes document analysis and follows the systematic literature review (SLR) as a research design. The analysis focuses on background of study, problem statement, methodology and past findings. The findings show that previous studies focused more on food and sustainable living strategies with regards to pollution of nature and climate change as well as awareness on these issues. These changes are observed to see whether it had an impact on lifestyle or the opposite. The findings too show that the problems that arose from previous studies are able to be tackled by using suitable engagement strategies.
