Abstract

This study is aimed at developing a set of diagnostic tests in identifying learning problems in the topic of Forces in Equilibrium. Three secondary schools were involved in the district of Kuala Kangsar, Perak . A total of 189 students who had studied the topic of Forces in Equilibrium participated in the study. The instrument consisted of a set of diagnostic questions. Observations and interviews were also conducted. The quantitative data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS software version 21 in the form of descriptive statistics. The findings showed that the level of thinking skills were low for the topic of Forces in Equilibrium. Based on the findings, it is suggested that approaches such as digital educational games, that can help teachers to diversify their teaching and learning techniques to improve students’ understanding and interest in the topic of Forces in Equilibrium can be used.
