KEPEMIMPINAN ISTRUKSIONAL PENGETUA SEBERANG PERAI SELATAN, PULAU PINANG

Abstract

The main focus of this study are principal instructional leadership and secondary school climate in Seberang Perai Selatan, Pulau Pinang. The total of 282 teachers from 14 schools in Seberang Perai Selatan, Pulau Pinang were involved as respondents in this study. This is a quantitative research using survey method. The data were collected through questionnaires answered by the respondents. The instrument used to measure the principal instructional leadership in this study is Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS) developed by Hallinger (2000). Mean while, the instrument to measure the secondary school climate is The CFK. Ltd., School Climate Profile which developed by Fox et al., (1971). Data were analyzed using the software programme IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 23.0. The result of this study showed that the level of principal instructional leadership secondary school practice in Seberang Perai Selatan, Pulau Pinang were at high level in every dimension based on overall mean scored (Mean= 4.07, SP = .434). The level of secondary school climate in Seberang Perai Selatan, Pulau Pinang were also at high level (Mean= 4.09, SP = .367). The result of Pearson Correlation Test showed significant relationship and positive between principal instructional leadership and secondary school climate in Seberang Perai Selatan, Pulau Pinang Lastly may the result of this finding would give more benefit to the theory and knowledge and also mastering the future researcher.
