Abstract

This pilot study is a practice of testing reliability of instruments at Institute of Sports Teacher Education effectively. Thus, the objective of this study was to test the reliability of the components of directors' professional leadership; Institute of Sports Teacher Education environment; convergence to the teaching and learning; high expectations; continuous assessment; sports consensus between Institute of Sports Teacher Education and the school; and the constraints to effective instruments of Institute of Sports Teacher Education practice. Further, the design of this study was a quantitative by using SPSS 22.0 to test the reliability. Besides, researchers used testretest to examine the degree of consistency and Cronbach Alpha’s score to test the reliability index of instrument. Next, researchers also used a qualitative approach to support the quantitative findings. Due to that, NVIVO 10.0 software was used to analyze the interview findings. Then, a total of 30 samples were randomly selected to answer the questionnaire. This study indicated tahat the Pearson correlation coefficients for reliability index of eight major components were at the high level of 0.922. Besides, the instruments were sent to 30 experts from the Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia (IPGM) and the Institute of Teacher Education (ITE). They were selected based on their expertise in the areas of leadership, administration, management, sports science and physical education. In conclusion, the findings showed that the Cronbach Alpha reliability was 0.744 and this instrument can be continued for further stage.
