Abstract

Malaysia is a multicultural society renowned for its religions and indigenous diversity. Malaysian accepts and respects various belief, cultural and traditions. However, as Islam is the religion embraced by majority of Malaysian since the early day of the formation of the nation-state, Islam is designated as the religion of the Federation, as well as a pillar of the administration of the state. Islam is a religion that is universal in its nature. Thus, social solidarity plays a pivotal principle of communal lives. Through this paper, readers are introduced to the concept of Hikmah, which is the best approach to establishing a platform for mutual understanding and social integration in a multiracial society. The concept can be practiced inclusively in all aspect of lives (i.e., behaviour, communication, meditating) by all segments of society, in particular, the educationalist. The discourse is a scholarly contribution to explaining the importance of faith-based approach to reinforce social solidarity among Malaysian.
