The Online Journal of Islamic Management and Finance (OJIMF) is a blind peer-reviewed journal published bi-annually (April and October) by Department of Shariah and Management,  Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. It is an online and open access journal comprising manuscripts in Malay, English and Arabic languages.  OJIMF welcomes manuscript submissions that cover multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary studies associated with Islamic management and finance, which may range from management, administration, marketing, entrepreneurship, human resource management, ethics, accounting, finance to banking. The Online Journal of Islamic Management and Finance (OJIMF) is currently accepting manuscripts for publication such as literature review, conceptual framework, case studies, theoretical and empirical research papers. JOURNAL POLICY

All submitted manuscripts will be acknowledged upon receipt via email. Review of the manuscript is carried out as swiftly as possible. Once a decision for publication, whether accepted or rejected, is made, the corresponding author will be notified by email.

Every manuscript contributed will be reviewed at least by one reviewer from our editors or co-editors. The journal, due to certain occasions, has a right to send it to the outside reviewer.

The published manuscript shall be a copyright of the Department of Shariah and Management, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The published manuscript would not represent the stand or opinion of the Advisory Board, Editorial Board, Co-Editorial Board and the Management Team of Online Journal of Islamic Management and Finance (OJIMF), or the Department of Shariah and Management, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya.

Note: This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

 

PEER REVIEW POLICY

All manuscripts submitted to OJIMF are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors and if found suitable for further consideration to blind peer review by at least two independent, anonymous experts in the field.  The reviewers’ recommendations are taken into consideration by the Editors in arriving at publication and revision decisions.  Comments from the external reviewers are sent to the authors and they are notified of the journal’s decision (accept with revisions or reject).  This entire review process will take anywhere between 4 and 6 months after submission of the manuscript.  The review process is treated confidentially at all times.  The Editors’ decision is final.

 

ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Online Journal of Islamic Management and Finance (OJIMF) is a peer reviewed online journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Therefore, the prevention of publication malpractice is one of the important responsibilities of the editorial board. To that purpose, all the actors of OJIMF publication, authors, reviewers and members of the editorial team, are expected to fully adhere to our policy regarding publication ethics and malpractice, and respect the following statements:

Editor Responsibility
·       To act in a balanced, objective and fair way while carrying out their expected duties, without discrimination on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, ethnics or geographical origin of the authors
·       To handle submissions for special issues in the same way as other submissions so that articles are considered and accepted solely on their academic merit.
·       To ensure the integrity of the publication review process.
·       To adopt and follow reasonable procedures in the event of complaints of an ethical or conflict nature
·       To gather evidence and to avoid spreading any allegations beyond those who need to know in the event of an investigation
·       To give authors a reasonable opportunity to respond to any complaints.  All complaints should be investigated no matter when the original publication was approved.  Documentation associated with any such complaints should be retained.

Editorial Board’s Responsibilities
The editorial board is responsible for deciding which of the submitted articles should be published.

The editorial board must ensure that information regarding manuscripts submitted by the authors is kept confidential.

The editorial board is accountable for everything published in the journal, thus; they have complete responsibility and authority to accept/reject an article. However, the published manuscript would not represent the stand or opinion of the Editorial Board and the Management Team of OJIMF, or the Department of Shariah and Management, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya.

The editorial board should take reasonably responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper. They shall conduct proper and fair investigation into ethical complaints.

Reviewer's Responsibilities
Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Reviewers must not have conflicts of interest with respect to the research, the authors or the research funding.

Judgments by the reviewers should be as objective and timely as possible. There shall be no personal criticism of the author. They should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

In the event that a reviewer feels it is not possible for him/her to complete review of manuscript within stipulated time, then this information must be communicated to the editor, so that the manuscript could be sent to another reviewer.

Reviewers need to alert the editor to any published or submitted content that is substantially similar to that under review.

Author Responsibility
To carefully read and follow OJIMF Journal Author Guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

The authors should ensure that their work is entirely original works, and if the work and/or words of others have been used, this has been appropriately acknowledged. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

They must ensure that the manuscript has not been issued elsewhere. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. The corresponding author should ensure all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

If at any point of time, author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in submitted manuscript, then the error or inaccuracy must be reported to the editor. If the editor or the publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains a significant error, it is the obligation of the author to promptly retract or correct the paper or provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original paper.

Authors are to cite from other article in indexed journals esp. Scopus/WoS and to disclose any funding support.
