Tahap Konflik Peranan Dalam Kalangan Pemimpin Sekolah di Sekolah Menengah di Negeri Kelantan

Abstract

Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti tahap konflik peranan pemimpin sekolah di sekolah menengah di negeri Kelantan.  Sejumlah 125 orang pemimpin pertengahan yang terdiri daripada Penolong-penolong kanan, guru-guru kanan dan ketua-ketua panitia bagi enam (6) subjek teras SPM di sekolah menengah di negeri Kelantan telah mengambil bahagian dalam kajian ini.  Instrumen soal selidik tahap konflik peranan diadaptasi daripada Instrumen Rizzo et al. (1970) telah digunakan untuk mengumpul data.  Dalam kajian ini data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Program Statistical Package of Sosial Science (SPSS) version 21. Data dianalisis menggunakan kaedah deskriptif dan statistik inferensi. Ujian Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) turut dilakukan untuk menguji kesahan dimensi konflik peranan yang sesuai digunakan di Malaysia. Manakala keputusan kajian menunjukkan tahap konflik peranan dalam kalangan pemimpin sekolah di sekolah menengah di negeri Kelantan berada pada tahap sederhana. Keputusan kajian turut menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan konflik peranan berdasarkan jantina dan pengalaman berkhidmat dalam kalangan pemimpin sekolah. Manakala keputusan kajian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan tahap konflik peranan berdasarkan umur.  Beberapa cadangan dikemukakan untuk mengurangkan konflik peranan dalam kalangan pemimpin sekolah sekaligus meningkatkan motivasi untuk terus komited kepada tugas bagi meneruskan kelestarian transformasi pendidikan negara.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the level of role conflict among the leaders of secondary schools in Kelantan. 125 middle leaders consisting of senior assistants, senior teachers, heads of units and heads of six (6) core subjects for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Examination from secondary schools in the state of Kelantan, Malaysia had participated in this research. The adapted instrument from Rizzo et al. (1970) had been applied to gather data for this research. The collected data were analysed using the Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) version 21. They were interpreted using descriptive and inferential statistics. The Exploratory Factor Analysis had been performed in order to test for the validity of the suitable dimensions for the role conflict in Malaysian background. The finding of the research revealed the level of role conflict among the school leaders in Kelantan was at the average level. The discovery also divulged a significant difference in role conflict based on gender and working experience among these leaders. Nonetheless, it was a different case with age factor where there was no significant difference in role conflict based on the demographic age. Several suggestions had been submitted in order to reduce the role conflict among the school leaders so as to increase motivation to continue to be committed to the task of promoting the continuity of the nation's education transformation.
