Full Confidentiality

Every article submitted to the journal will be handled with strict confidentiality. The Managing Editor will evaluate each submission individually and on its own merits.

Journal Guarantees

 The journal ensures that the quality of an article is assessed solely on its own merit, regardless of the reputation of the corresponding author or co-authors.

Confidentiality

 If the Editorial Board determines that the article fulfills the journal’s basic submission criteria (refer to the Submission Guidelines), it will be sent to two anonymous peer reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. The author’s identity will remain confidential to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation.

Total of Reviewers

The journal maintains a double-blind review process, ensuring that the identities of the authors remain concealed from the reviewers. Authors are encouraged to suggest at least two potential reviewers—preferably up to five—who have expertise in the relevant field. Providing these recommendations can help expedite the editorial and peer review process, facilitating timely publication of the submitted work.

Unacceptable Articles

If, in rare cases, only one reviewer deems the submission unsuitable, the article will be forwarded to an additional reviewer for a final evaluation. This step helps the editorial board make a well-informed decision regarding the article's suitability for publication in Jurnal Pengajian Melayu or the Journal of Malay Studies (JOMAS)

Final Draft

Final edits are reviewed by the Editorial Board Members and Proofreaders of Jurnal Pengajian Melayu or the Journal of Malay Studies (JOMAS) to ensure accuracy and address any remaining concerns. If any technical errors are identified, the editor will request the author to make the necessary revisions.

Time Frame of Reviewing Process

It will take approximately 2-3 months from submission to completion of the publication process.

Information on Publications

The author will be officially notified via email once all publication processes have been completed.
