Special Issue Guideline
JOURNAL OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRACTICE (JPMP) SPECIAL ISSUE
Journal of Project Management Practice (JPMP) welcomes scholarly proposals for Special Issue that align with the journal’s scope and academic focus. Special Issue submissions undergo the same rigorous evaluation as regular submissions. To maintain publication quality, every proposal must nominate a Guest Editor and establish a special issue editorial committee to review and recommend papers. The JPMP Editorial Board will then conduct a final evaluation of each paper prior to acceptance. Please adhere to the JPMP Special Issue Guidelines (see Appendix A). All decisions concerning the publication of a Special Issue are made by the Editorial Board to ensure thematic relevance and consistency with the journal’s objectives. A Special Issue serves as a platform for in-depth scholarly engagement with a focused topic. Each manuscript undergoes thorough editorial screening and peer review to determine its suitability for publication.
Acceptance into a Special Issue is not automatic; only articles that meet the journal’s standards of quality, originality, and scholarly significance will be published. Maintaining the academic integrity and quality of JPMP remains a core priority. Accordingly, all manuscripts, whether submitted to a Special Issue or a regular issue, are subject to the journal’s editorial policies, review process, and publication standards. A publication fee of RM200 will be charged for each article accepted for publication in a Special Issue. This fee applies only after the manuscript has successfully passed the journal’s editorial evaluation and peer review process. JPMP remains firmly committed to ethical publishing practices and strictly adheres to its ethics and malpractice guidelines to safeguard research integrity. SCOPE OF JOURNAL
The scope and areas of specialisation for the journal are as follows: Project Management Theory and Practices, Strategic Project Management, Project Governance, Programme Management, Portfolio Management, Human Resources Management, Organisational Theory & Behaviour, Quality Management, Value Management/ Value Engineering, Risk Management, Knowledge Management, Lean Management, Financial & Cost Management, ICT Management, Performance Management.
Additionally, it also covers the scopes that are related to the project management of the following areas: Health & Safety; Legal Issues, Economics, Professional Practice, Procurement, Contract and Commercial Management.
GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
JPMP accepts research/original articles and review articles. All articles should adhere and relate to the scope and policy of JPMP. The manuscript submitted to JPMP will be screened and validated by the editorial team to ensure compliance with the journal scope and policy. Manuscripts are accepted on the understanding that they have not been and will not be published elsewhere. All submissions will be peer-reviewed. The editors have the final decision on publication. Accepted manuscripts become the copyright of the journal.
Preparation of Manuscripts:
• The manuscripts are written in English.
• Manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (please follow the given template).
• The preferred length for articles is around 5,000 to 8,000 words for research manuscript and around 8,000 to 10,000 words for review manuscript, inclusive of everything (Tables, Figures, References and Appendices).
• All graphs, charts, figures or tables should be put where the relevant texts appear in the manuscript.
In general, manuscripts should be submitted in the following order of 3 separate files.
1. Cover letter
All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter from the corresponding author. By submitting this letter, the corresponding author accepts responsibility for all statements contained within it. The details of all authors including email address must be listed in the cover letter. It should be declared that the manuscript has not been submitted to another journal and will not be published elsewhere until the decision made by the journal. All authors must agree on the submission to this journal.
2. Title Page

• E-mail address of the authors and corresponding author
• Acknowledgements of any funders or research grants
3. Manuscript without authors' information

THE ROLE OF GUEST EDITOR FOR JPMP SPECIAL ISSUE:
Guest editor is expected to:
1. Establish and lead a team of special issue editorial committee.
2. Have responsibility for the selection, commissioning, facilitate reviewing, editing and provision of the final manuscripts to the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal.
3. Ensure that submission must be the original work of the author that has not been published previously, as a whole or in part, either in print or electronically, or is soon to be so published.
4. Ensure that authors follow the journal's manuscript preparation guidelines.
5. Ensure that all authors supply illustrations of an appropriate quality and that authors obtain all necessary copyright permissions.
6. Proof-read the entire volume and to ensure that authors proof-read their contributions.
7. Provide full contact details, including email addresses, for all contributors.
8. Ensure strict peer review and quick processing of manuscripts.
9. Select and allocate reviewers for submitted manuscripts. The journal’s editorial policy requires blind reviews for all submitted manuscripts. Two reviewers are required for each manuscript.
10. Compile the final manuscript of the volume and submit it to the publisher making sure that the guidelines and deadlines are respected so as to facilitate the production of the issue.
11. Select manuscript that do not exceed the maximum word count stated in the Guidelines for Author.
12. The manuscript submission must be accompanied by a Turnitin report indicating a similarity index of 20% or less.
13. Ensure that papers related to systematic review or review of literature must be limited to 40% of the total papers accepted for publication.
14. Work in close collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief.
PUBLICATION CHARGES AND NUMBER OF ARTICLES FOR A SPECIAL ISSUE:
Article fees: RM200.00 per article within the word/page limit. Number of articles: A special issue requires a minimum of 10 articles and a maximum of 20 articles.
