Submission Guidelines for Authors

Submissions must be made to MNIJ Journal website  or via e-mail (mnij@um.edu.my) only electronically.

Manuscripts published or currently under review elsewhere are ineligible for submission. Submissions require full names and e-mail addresses of all the authors and the final version of an accepted article cannot be further modified nor changed. Readers of the journal may send their comments on published articles in an issue to the journal’s office up to six months after publication. Should the editorial board accept a comment, the author(s) of the respective article will be informed and invited to respond to the comment within the next two issues of the journal.

An acknowledgement statement expresses gratitude to individuals or organizations for assistance, but not direct involvement, in production of an original work and should appear at the end of the article. In case of financial support or funding for the conduct of research, authors are required to acknowledge their funding and financial under the acknowledgements section.

Conflict of Interest

The corresponding author (on behalf of all co-authors) should submit a conflict of interest disclosure form and accepts the responsibility for accuracy and completeness of the submitted manuscript. All submitted manuscripts must include a conflict of interest statement. The statement will appear under a heading “conflict of interest” prior to the references.

The corresponding author, on behalf of all other authors of an accepted manuscript, should fill and send the Copyright Transfer Agreement form to enable MNIJ to publish their manuscript.

English Language Fluency

Non-English-speaking authors who would like to have their manuscripts refined for their use of language might consider employing a professional editing service. MNIJ does not offer English editing services. Manuscripts written in broken English will be rejected if they are illegible.

Articles should be prefaced with a self-contained, one-paragraph abstract summarizing the main problem, key ideas and conclusions. Provide a text-only manuscript and minimize the use of mathematical symbols and accented variables.

Keywords should be written in alphabetical order and separated by semicolons.

It is the responsibility of authors to obtain permission for reproduction of copyrighted material including figures, tables, illustrations or quotations previously published elsewhere.

All manuscripts submitted to MNIJ are subjected to strict screening using plagiarism prevention software. Plagiarism is considered an academic dishonesty, copyright infringement and a serious violation of publication ethics. Other similar ethical offenses include duplicate publication, data fabrication and improper credit of other authors’ contributions.
