神臂城道教文化初探 A Preliminary Study of Shenbi City's Taoist Culture

Abstract

Shenbi City‘s location and the overall building layout is based upon the Taoist thought of advocating water, yin-yang doctrine and the application of Taoist geomancy ideas. The specific building form of Shenbi City provide the ancient people of Shu with hope of salvation and, therefore it is the crystallisation of the traditional wisdom of all ethnic groups living in Sichuan. In the new era, the cultural reconstruction and tourism plan of Shenbi City should be given full consideration. The Taoist elements should be refined and embodied.
