Retraction Policy

The Malaysian Journal of Cybersecurity and Applications (MJCA) is dedicated to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. Retractions are issued in cases where serious errors or misconduct have occurred, affecting the reliability and validity of the published work.

Possible reasons for retraction are as follows:

  • Research misconduct: Retractions will be issued for cases of fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.
  • Major errors: If there are significant errors or inaccuracies that undermine the findings and conclusions.
  • Ethical violations: Instances of unethical research practices, such as lack of necessary approvals or consent or undeclared conflict of interest.
  • Duplicate publication: When an article is found to have been published in multiple journals without proper disclosure.

Retraction can be initiated by the authors, editors or upon receiving credible information from third parties. The editorial board would then conduct an investigation to ascertain the need for retraction. If the decision is to retract the article, the authors will be informed and provided with the opportunity to respond to the decision. Should the decision remain, a retraction notice will be published in the journal, clearly stating the reasons for the retraction.
