Aims and Scope

Aims
Jurnal Syariah is a peer-reviewed academic journal that aims to advance Shariah studies from classical and contemporary perspectives by publishing original research that connects Islamic legal sources and reasoning with the interpretation and application of Shariah in contemporary contexts. The journal provides a platform for scholarly exchange across juristic traditions, disciplines, and societies, with Shariah serving as the primary analytical and normative framework.

Scope
The journal welcomes original research within the following areas:

1. Shariah Principles, Methodology, and Jurisprudence
2. Shariah Objectives, Juristic Thought, and Development
3. Shariah Governance, Politics, and Public Administration
4. Shariah Economics, Finance, and Muamalat
5. Shariah Law, Judiciary, and Justice
6. Shariah in Science and Technology
7. Shariah in Local Customary and Society

The journal accepts textual, doctrinal, comparative, empirical, and interdisciplinary research appropriate to these areas. Manuscripts should identify a clear scholarly problem, explain their sources and methods, and demonstrate their contribution to Shariah scholarship. Interdisciplinary contributions must show how Shariah concepts, sources, or reasoning shape the research question, analysis, and conclusions. Studies of particular localities or jurisdictions are welcome when they explain their contribution to scholarly discourse on Shariah.
