Abstract

This study aims to obtain expert consensus in order to validate instrument on distributive leadership practices using   Fuzzy Delphi Method. The objective of this study was to obtain expert consensus on questionnaire items that was develop based on four distributive leadership constructs and to assess item position by percentage of expert. The questionnaire that had 5 Likert scales   were analyzed using a triangular fuzzy number. The findings show that not all of the items in the construct have expert consensus. The FDM analysis towards distributive leadership questionnaire shows that mission-sharing constructs, visions and goals as well as shared-responsibility constructs were approved by experts. Subsequent item rankings by the percentage of expert consensus indicate that there are items still in the same position and there are items that share the same position as the original. Implications of these findings indicate that researchers need to be alert with the use of vocabulary, reduce the number of items in specific constructs, hold further discussions with lecturers to make sure instruments are suitable for researchers, and the total selection of relevant experts in the field. As a conclusion, FDM is suitable to be applied by various researchers as a tool for validation.
