Abstract

This case study is designed to explore the process of implementation of co curricular management at secondary school among 10 teacher who are involved as a group of co curricular management in two states Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. This study was implemented based on management theories Stoner, Freedmen and Gilbert (1995) and also Gulick’s principle of management (1954) with minor alterations to fit the study needs. This qualitative study utilised the constant comparison method for data analysis. Data was obtained from three techniques which are in-depth interview, observation and analysis document. The selection of participants was based on purposive sampling methods, in order to facilitate an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon in question. The analysis and data collection process was conducted simultaneously and continuously until data saturation was achieved. The result of the research shows that all participants have given their opinions about the implementation and also the process of co curricular management at the secondary school. Generally, this study showed that a group of co curricular management have used four aspects to manage co curricular activities at school in order to maintain the excellence of co curricular. They are planning, organising, leadership and control.
