Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

ISJ – International STEM Journal recognizes the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in scholarly research and publication. The journal permits the responsible use of AI as a supportive tool for purposes such as language editing, grammar checking, translation, formatting, and improving clarity and readability. However, AI must not replace the intellectual contribution, scholarly judgment, or accountability of human authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and integrity of their manuscripts. The use of AI to fabricate or manipulate data, research findings, references, citations, or other scholarly content is strictly prohibited. AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors, as authorship requires human intellectual contribution and accountability.

Where AI is used as part of the research methodology, including data analysis, modelling, or other STEM-related applications, its use must be appropriately described in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for verifying all AI-assisted content and ensuring compliance with applicable ethical, copyright, confidentiality, and research-integrity requirements. ISJ is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, transparency, confidentiality, and responsible scholarly communication. Reviewers and editors must ensure that AI use does not compromise manuscript confidentiality, peer-review processes, research data, or intellectual property. The journal may employ appropriate editorial and technological measures to assess compliance, and any inappropriate, fraudulent, or undisclosed use of AI that compromises research or publication integrity may result in editorial action, including manuscript rejection, correction, withdrawal, or retraction.
