Peer Review

Confidentiality

All manuscripts submitted to the journal are handled with strict confidentiality. Each submission undergoes an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Al-Tamaddun (JAT) before being considered for the double-blind peer review process.

Editorial Integrity

The journal guarantees that all submissions are evaluated solely on their scholarly merit, independent of the reputation, institutional affiliation, or academic standing of the corresponding author or co-authors.

Peer Review Process

Once the Editorial Board confirms that a manuscript meets the journal’s basic requirements (see Submission Guidelines), it is forwarded to two independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise under a double-blind peer review system. The identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers to ensure an impartial and unbiased evaluation.

All manuscripts are reviewed by a minimum of two (2) reviewers, and author anonymity is maintained throughout the review process.

Review Outcomes

In cases where one reviewer recommends rejection while the other provides a favourable assessment, the manuscript will be referred to an additional reviewer for a final evaluation. This process assists the Editorial Board in reaching a fair and informed publication decision.

Final Review and Editing

Following acceptance, the manuscript undergoes final editorial review by members of the Editorial Board to ensure accuracy, accountability, and compliance with journal standards. If technical or formatting issues are identified, authors will be requested to revise the manuscript accordingly.

Review Timeline

The Journal of Al-Tamaddun typically requires approximately two to six months from submission to the completion of the review and publication process.

Notification of Publication

Authors will be formally notified of the publication outcome via official email upon completion of the review and editorial process.
