Journal of Al-Tamaddun (JAT) is an open-access, peer-reviewed research journal published by the Department of Islamic History and Civilization, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. JAT published high-quality research articles and book reviews within the scope of Islamic History and Civilization.

Volume 16 No. 1 (2021) of JAT was available online on 29 June 2021 with 13 full length papers and 2 book review. Articles in this issue were authored by 34 authors from multiple affiliations and 6 countries i.e: Malaysia, Indonesia, Qatar, United Kingdom, Turkiye and Iran.
