  2. Editors must ensure that each manuscript received by the journal is reviewed for its intellectual content without regard to the sex, gender, race, religion, citizenship, etc. of the authors.
  3. Editors should ensure the integrity of the publication review process. As such, editors should not reveal either the identity of authors of manuscripts to the reviewers, or the identity of reviewers to authors.

  4. The Editorial Board should take reasonably responsive measures when ethical complaints have been presented concerning a submitted manuscript or published paper. They shall conduct a proper and fair investigation into ethical complaints.

Authors' Responsibilities

  1. The authors should ensure that their work is entirely original, and if the work and/or words of others have been used, this has been appropriately acknowledged. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  2. They must ensure that the manuscript has not been issued elsewhere. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  3. Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
  4. If at any point in time, the author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in the submitted manuscript, then the error or inaccuracy must be reported to the editor. Conflicts of Interest and Editorial Independence

Editors with a conflict of interest must withdraw from the review and decision-making processes for the manuscript concerned.

Manuscripts submitted by the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Editorial Board members, or others involved in the journal’s editorial management must meet the same editorial and peer-review standards as all other submissions. These manuscripts must be assigned to an independent editor who has no relevant conflict of interest. The submitting author must not participate in reviewer selection, the peer-review process, editorial deliberations, or the final publication decision.

Corrections, Retractions and Expressions of Concern

Jurnal Usuluddin is committed to preserving the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. Authors, readers, reviewers, editors, and other parties may raise concerns about published articles. The Editorial Board will examine these concerns and decide on the appropriate post-publication action, guided by the journal’s policies and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Corrections: Errors that affect an article’s accuracy or clarity without substantially undermining its findings or conclusions may be resolved through a correction notice, including an erratum or corrigendum where appropriate. The notice will explain the changes made and be linked to the original article.

Expressions of Concern: The Editorial Board may issue an expression of concern when serious questions arise about an article’s integrity or reliability, but the available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation is still underway. The notice will be linked to the original article and may subsequently be followed by a correction, retraction, or another appropriate action.

Retractions: An article may be retracted if its findings or conclusions are substantially compromised by serious errors, research misconduct, plagiarism, unethical research practices, duplicate publication, or other major breaches of publication ethics. The Editorial Board will assess the nature and severity of the issue before deciding whether a retraction is warranted.

Retracted articles will generally remain available as part of the scholarly record. Each will be clearly labelled as retracted and linked to a retraction notice stating the reasons for the decision. Published content will be considered for removal only in exceptional circumstances involving legal, privacy, safety, or other serious concerns.

The ethics statements for our journal are based on the Ethical Code of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
