Abstract

The 21st century learning style emphasizes pupils to becoming more independent and authoritative in the learning process, in addition to focusing on puplis-centered learning. Malay language is the core and compulsory subjects for pupils from all streams of schools in Malaysia. Thus, this study aims to identify the level of acceptance of edutainment through interactive games "Hidden Objects", particularly pupils who are schooling in primary chinese school in the learning of Malay grammar under the collective nouns. This study uses two methods, which is quantitative methods through questionnaires. While the qualitative method is conducted by using semi-structured interview. The results of the quantitative study showed a very high score mean with a mean value of 4.30. While the findings from the interview is also showed pupils were very positive and well accepted by the interactive games to assist pupils in learning collective nouns. The implication of the study indicated process of teaching and learning in the 21st century is no longer tied to the classroom alone. In fact, the learning process is more flexible and informal in seeking knowledge without the constraints of location and time. The result of this study also provides knowledge to teachers for using either interactive or non-interactive type of edutainment games in their teaching to delivered the educational content. As a results, the instinct and natural desire of a child is to play and through games is able to assists children to have a better understanding of the lesson.
