Abstract

The Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) has decided to use Google Classroom as a learning platform to replaced Frog VLE which the service contract is terminated on June 30, 2019. However, the widespread use of Google Classroom at the school level began in 2020 when the Malaysian government announced the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Therefore, Google Classroom continues to be used till curently as one of the platforms of teaching and learning at home (PdPR). Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identified the level of acceptance of school teachers towards Google Classroom in the delivery of teaching and learning (PdP) or through PdPR. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as the basic model is used in this study. In addition, this study uses quantitative approach through survey questionnaire. A total of 148 teachers from primary and secondary schools were the respondents in this study. This study focuses on three aspects, namely the perception of usefulness, usability and attitudes of school teachers towards Google Classroom. Data analyzed by using descriptive analysis, mean, percentage and standard deviation. Findings from this study showed that the mean value for the aspect of usefulness is 3.77, which is at a high level, while the mean value of usability and attitude with mean values of 3.43 and 3.23, which is at a moderate level. In conclusion, Google Classroom should be enhanced its use among school teachers in implementing PdP or PdPR during teaching and learning sessions which is unable to implemented physically in the classroom.
