Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the teachers’ perception of using information and communications technology (ICT) in teaching the Tamil Language. The Theory of Acceptance model (TAM) was used to identify the teachers’ perception on their acceptance of using ICT in teaching the Tamil language. The study uitlised qualitative data collection techniques such as observations and interviews. Six teacher participants were interviewed. The results showed that teachers’ acceptance in using ICT was positive in terms of significance, facility and readiness in teaching Tamil. Based on the research findings, suggestions have been proposed for increasing the effective use of ICT in teaching the Tamil language among teachers.
