EDITORIAL POLICIES                                                                                                                                      Submission of manuscript to a Malaysia Online Journal of Pychology & Counselling (MOJPC) implies that all authors have read and agreed to its content and that the manuscript conforms to the journal's policies.

(1) Publication decisions:
The Editorial members of the MOJPC is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

(2) Ethics approval:                                                                                                                                                             A statement detail including the name of the ethics committee and the reference number where appropriate, must appear in all manuscripts reporting such research. If a study has been granted an exemption from requiring ethics approval, this should also be detailed in the manuscript. Further information and documentation to support this should be made available to the Editor on request. Manuscripts may be rejected if the Editor considers that the research has not been carried out within an appropriate ethical framework. In rare cases, the Editor may contact the ethics committee for further information.

(3) Consent to participate:                                                                                                                                                       For research involving human participants, informed consent to participate in the study should be obtained from participants (or their parent or legal guardian in the case of children under age) and a statement to this effect should appear in the manuscript.

(4) Peer review:
The MOJPC is committed to the highest standards of peer review. After receiving a manuscript, an editor is assigned to assess the quality of the manuscript. If the manuscript is deemed suitable, it will be double-blind peer reviewed by independent, anonymous experts. If the authors have submitted their manuscripts as preprints on an open-access platform, anonymity cannot be guaranteed.

(5) Confidentiality:
The editor and any editorial members must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

(6) Retraction of a published article:
The MOJPC can consider retracting a published article if there are serious concerns about scientific methods or integrity of the article post-publication. Editor-in-Chief will chair the investigation process and make appropriate decisions with selected editorial board members, who do not have prior relationships with the authors involved.

 (7) Intellectual property:
The MOJPC is an open-access journal. The authors are responsible and should have sought written permission from the copyright owners to publish any copyrighted materials in their manuscripts.

(8) Authorship and collaboration:
Only individuals who have made a significant contribution to the manuscript should have their names listed as authors/co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the work must be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper.  All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper and agree to the version of the paper before submission.
