Abstract

An international issue that is interesting to study is the seriousness and commitment of Malaysia towards the issue pertaining to Bosnia-Herzegovina. At the early stage, Malaysia supported the United Nations on Bosnia issues, but when the conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina failed to be settled quickly and effectively, Malaysia voiced out her stance loudly on the issue and criticized the United Nations. Why did Malaysia play an active role in Bosnia-Herzegovina issues althought both countries are different geopolitically? This article studies underlying factors of Malaysia's foreign policy relating to Bosnia-Herzegovina issues. It is based on debates in the Malaysian House of Representatives and also on newspaper reports.
