Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Authors
Authors using Generative AI tools in preparing manuscripts for JIAS are expected to do so responsibly and in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics.
• Any use of Generative AI must be clearly acknowledged in the article, including:
o The full name of the AI tool (with version number)
o How the tool was used
o The reason for its use
• This statement should be included in the Methods or Acknowledgments section.
This transparency allows editors to assess whether Generative AI tools were used responsibly. JIAS reserves the right to make the final decision on publication, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and academic integrity.
Editors
Editors are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal content.
• Submission and peer review details must be kept confidential.
• Manuscripts or associated files must not be uploaded to Generative AI tools, as this may risk confidentiality, copyright, or other proprietary concerns.
• Editors should consult with the Editor-in-Chief before using any Generative AI tools, unless authorized use has been confirmed.
Peer Reviewers
Peer reviewers, as experts in their fields, must not use Generative AI to analyze or summarize submitted manuscripts for their review.
• Reviewers must not upload unpublished manuscripts, files, images, or other information into Generative AI tools.
• AI tools may only be used to assist with improving the language of the review, but reviewers remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their evaluations.
