Peer Review and Publication
JTOH is committed to a rigorous, transparent, and confidential peer-review process.
All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess suitability for peer review. Submissions deemed appropriate are then evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent and anonymous experts in the relevant field. Reviewer reports and recommendations are carefully considered by the Editors in making the final decision regarding publication. Authors will receive anonymised reviewer comments and will be informed of the editorial decision, which may be:
• Accept
• Accept with minor revisions
• Accept with major revisions
• Reject
The typical review process takes approximately 2 to 3 months from the date of submission, depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity. All stages of the review process are handled in strict confidence. The Editors’ decision is final.
Once accepted, articles are processed under JTOH’s continuous publication model, allowing papers to be published online as soon as they are ready, thereby maximizing visibility and impact for the global Tropical One Health community.
