About the Journal
Journal of Islamic Educational Research (JIER) is currently accepting manuscripts for publication. JIER, a double blind peer-reviewed journal, is published by Islamic History, Civilization and Education, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. It is an online and open access journal comprises manuscripts in Malay and English languages. It has been launched during International Seminar on Empowering Islamic Education 2016 (MADRASAH 2016).
JIER uses a continuous publishing model, according to which each manuscript is published individually once approved. The article can then be accessed online. All the approved manuscripts for the particular year will be combined in two volumes for the year. From 2016 to 2024, only one volume was published per year. However, starting in 2025, two volumes will be published annually.

Volume 12, Issue 1 (2026) of the Journal of Islamic Educational Research (JIER) was published online on 29 June 2026. This issue features ten peer-reviewed articles authored by 36 scholars from Mexico, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Indonesia, reflecting JIER's continued commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing scholarly excellence in Islamic educational research.
The contributing authors are affiliated with a wide range of distinguished academic and educational institutions, including Universidad Tecnológica Latinoamericana en Línea (UTEL), Mexico; London School of Science and Technology (LSST), United Kingdom; Ummu Al- Qura University, Makkah Al- Mukarramah, Saudi Arabia, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ), and the District Education Office, Ministry of Education Malaysia; as well as Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry (UIN Ar-Raniry), Balai Diklat Keagamaan Banda Aceh (BDK Banda Aceh), Muhammadiyah Cirebon University (UMC), Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), and Universitas Potensi Utama (UPU), Indonesia.
