Peer Review Policy

All submissions to Security and Information Applications (JSIA), except editorials, undergo double-blind peer review: the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the process.

Review Process

1. Initial screening: the editors check scope, originality, and compliance with the JSIA template and page limits (12 pages; 6 pages for Short Communications).
2. Peer review: suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers.
3. Recommendation: reviewers recommend Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision or Reject, normally within four weeks.
4. Decision: the handling editor makes the decision based on the reviews; the Editor-in-Chief has final responsibility.
5. Revision: authors revise the manuscript and respond to each reviewer comment; revised manuscripts may be sent back to the reviewers.

Confidentiality and Competing Interests

Manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers and editors must declare any competing interest and must not upload manuscripts to generative AI tools. See the Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
